“In Muntean andRosenblum’s monumental paintings and drawings, the questioning irony appears inthe unbearable, destabilizing irrationality and in the chaotic linguisticdisorder that unexpectedly drive the inexplicable behavior of people, who seemto be forced to remainon the stage of the theater of improbabilities andobscure dramaturgies, like in the hallucinated movie-like scenes or in theseemingly banal, well-known public places, with their familiar figures andtheir behavior. Muntean and Rosenblum show us a profoundly irritating mixtureof well-managed composition and ill-managed literary communication between theactors, whose internal communication seems not to correspond with any rationalexplication or motivation. Paradoxically, everything seems to bewell-orchestrated but the question about the real motives of the actors’behavior, about the relationships between places and figures, between texts andimages, remains unanswered.”(Lorand Hegyi)
